I’m thrilled to share a note and a picture from donor sister/mom Jill Stephenson.
Jill’s brother, J.T. Burud, and son, Ben Kopp, saved lives through organ donation after their deaths, 27 years apart. They are being honored with floragraphs on the Donate Life Float in the Rose Parade on New Year’s Day. Jill and her mom spent last weekend decorating those floragraphs in Pasadena, CA.
You can see more pictures of Jill and her mom’s time in California on our Donate Life MN Facebook page.
Hello Life Source friends!
My mom and I had a wonderful time in Pasadena making the floragraphs for our sons, Ben Kopp and J.T. Burud, this past weekend. On Saturday, we arrived at the Rosemont Pavillion at 10am and did not leave until almost 5pm!
We were greeted when we got there by two kind women assigned to help and guide us. They were each wearing buttons of our boys and had some for us to wear on our shirts as well! It was fun to watch the transformation with each new shading, shadow or color we added. We would hold them at a distance and gasp at how we were making these photographs come to life!!
Every thing was well organized and everyone was very kind. It was exciting to see the Donate Life float being worked on and to get a sneak peek at some of the others. We are excited to go back for the New Years festivities and share in the excitement of the parade. We are so honored and grateful for the opportunity to be a part of something so wonderful!!
