Donor Family Services

Organ and tissue donors are heroes and we believe their families should be treated with the utmost care and respect at the time of donation and in the months and  years following their loved one’s death.

Our donor family advocates are a resource for our families.  They compassionately provide grief resources and support to our donor families, as well as facilitate communication between donor families and transplant recipients.

Each year we provide an opportunity for donor families to gather together and remember their loved ones and the precious gifts of life they so generously gave to others.  We have also had the honor to work with the Governor’s offices in Minnesota, North Dakota and South Dakota to host a ceremony with the Governor to thank donor families for their loved one’s gifts of life.  More informally, we host donor family and recipient picnics throughout the region to provide an opportunity for donor families and transplant recipients to get to know one another and learn about each other’s journey through donation and transplantation.
