Sharing your story

Some transplant recipients choose to share their story as a volunteer for LifeSource.  We are grateful for their willingness to talk about their journey and how organ and tissue donation has impacted their life. 

When you share your story with the people in your community you have the opportunity to change hearts and minds.  Many people don’t think about organ and tissue donation until they know someone who has personally been affected.  And we know that we need more people to register as donors so that more people will receive the transplant they need.

You don’t have to be a professional speaker – all we ask is that you speak from your heart.  And, of course, we’ll be here to guide you in shaping your story so that it feels comfortable to you and to your audience.

If you aren’t comfortable speaking in public, you can also share your story through social media, writing a letter to the editor of your local paper or by talking with your legislators about how important donation is to you.  We have plenty of opportunities and hope you will learn more about our volunteer program and how you can get involved.
