Morrison County’s Jill Killeaney Wins First National Lifesaver Award!
Jill Killeaney has worked at the Morrison County Motor Vehicle Office in Minnesota for 18 years, where she has long advocated for everybody to register as an organ, eye and tissue donor. This year, she received Donate Life America DMV Lifesaver Award in recognition of her tireless advocacy. The award recognizes a DMV or driver’s license partner staff member who demonstrates exceptional commitment to their role as a partner in saving lives through support of the Donate Life mission.
“I was humbled and honored to receive this award. I have been aware of LifeSource and their mission since I began working at Morrison County Motor Vehicle 18 years ago, prior to that I had worked with Red Cross in the donation of tissue when I lost my husband, Mike,” said Jill. “Through the loss of my son, I became much more familiar with LifeSource and Donate Life. Nothing can bring Shawn back, but I find comfort in the fact that he truly lives on, not just in the hearts of those who love him, but in his donation of organs and tissue. I am passionate about the LifeSource program because of my firsthand experience, knowing that Shawn’s decision to be a donor has helped to improve, or even save, the lives of others.”
Thanks to advocates like Jill and all of the Driver’s License Offices across Minnesota, North Dakota and South Dakota, more people register as donors every day and more lives are saved.
