Q & A with LifeSource Recruiter, Erin

What three items would you take with you to a deserted island?

That sounds really relaxing so I’d bring a book, some sunscreen and a swimsuit and just chill out.

What’s your favorite holiday?

Valentine’s Day is my birthday, so I really love that. It’s a fun holiday for me to celebrate and everyone buys me chocolate.

What did you want to be when you were younger?

When I was little, I wanted to be an opera rock star, but I couldn’t sing so that was out of the question. Later on, when I was touring campus universities, I thought it would be fun to be tour guide. Since it wasn’t really a realistic option, my college advisor suggested HR and recruiting since you get to meet new people all the time.

If you could have any superpower, which would it be?

I would love to be able to teleport and bring people with me. It would be really cool to go somewhere for a day and just explore.

What’s your favorite thing about recruiting?

I really love that I get to meet new people and learn about their interests and goals and help them meet those goals. I especially like to do that for our internal applicants and help them develop.

What do you like the most about working at LifeSource?

The mission is very important to me, and I really enjoy the people. I could do HR work for any organization but working with a team that is so mission driven is inspiring. It’s easy to bring people into an organization that you feel connected do.

What is your best piece of advice for applicants?

To external applicants, I would say make sure you build up your network as much as possible. Recruiters are always willing to chat with people. If you already work at LifeSource, make your development goals very visible and clear. The more people know about them, the more they can help you reach your opportunity.

What is your favorite work memory?

I am not sure I have a favorite work memory but I really enjoy the new HR team and the atmosphere that we have created.

If you could work remotely from anywhere in the world, where would you choose?

My parents live in Door County, WI, across the street from the lake. Their place is very artsy and calming. Unfortunately, the WIFI isn’t great, but if it was better, I’d love to work there.

Which celebrity would you like to crash your next Zoom meeting?

Dolly Parton. Dolly was a big inspiration during the opera rockstar phase.
