Sarah Danielle Nelson

May 31, 1985 – June 24, 2006

This quilt block has been created in memory of Sarah Nelson. It honors her generosity of spirit and love for others. The block is made from material used in Sarah’s favorite quilt. We treasure that quilt. When Sarah saw the movie, “Just Like Heaven” she told us, “If anything ever happens to me, let them take everything, even my eyes.” The recipients of Sarah’s organs were fortunate. Sarah had made her wishes known. On June 24, 2006, Sarah died from complications after having hip surgery (periacetabularosteotomy). Sarah’s wish to be an organ donor describes her generous nature and love of life. We thank God for our 21 years with Sarah.
