Meet This Year’s Keynote Speaker
Litsa Williams is a licensed clinical social worker and co-founder of What’s Your Grief, one of the country’s largest online grief and bereavement support communities, accessed by over 5 million grieving individuals and professionals each year. What’s Your Grief offers hundreds of free grief articles, creative expression initiatives, online courses and workshops, a podcast, and a support community for grievers. She is the co-author of the book What’s Your Grief: Lists to Help you Through Any Loss and has been featured as a grief expert for The Wall Street Journal, Huffington Post, USNews, Washington Post, and NPR.

Litsa has many connections to the donation community, both personal and professional. Litsa first became personally connected to the donation community when she was 18 and her father died waiting for a match for a bone marrow transplant. Following that incredible loss, she and her family were eternally grateful and relieved several years later when her uncle received the life-saving gift of a kidney transplant thanks to the selfless decision of a 26-year-old man in Georgia. Litsa went on to spend eight years working with organ and tissue donor families at the Living Legacy Foundation, our sister organization in Baltimore, MD before co-founding What’s Your Grief. Litsa is a tissue recipient herself, having received a bone graft during an oral surgery in 2015 that resolved years of chronic jaw pain.
