Donor Family Workshop: An Inside Look at Our Donor Care Units

LifeSource invites you to a special donor family workshop where we’ll share an inside look at our Donor Care Units (DCU).

About the Workshop
These specialized spaces — at the University of Minnesota Medical Center and Mayo Clinic — are dedicated to providing excellent care and coordination during the donation process, while offering compassionate support to families of organ donors.

This virtual event is designed exclusively for donor families, offering you the opportunity to learn more about the care and mission behind organ donation.

Meet the Presenters

Grant Redstone
Program Manager, Mayo Clinic
As a former Hospital Partner Liaison with LifeSource, Grant played a key role in creating and developing the Donor Care Unit at UMMC. Working alongside donor families has deeply shaped his perspective on the profound generosity of donation. Grant holds a master’s degree in urban and regional planning, a Doctorate in Chiropractic, and has taught at universities in England and the United States.

Erin Shaden
Nurse Manager, M Health Fairview
Erin has served at M Health Fairview for 12 years in various roles, including RN in the Medical ICU and manager of the Surgical/Neuro ICU, before stepping into her current role managing the DCU. Her work with LifeSource as a Donation Coordinator from 2017–2021 inspired her deep connection to the mission of organ donation. Outside of work, Erin is the proud mom to a 4-year-old son named Bear and a 12-year-old dog named Willis. She enjoys running, sailing and trying to keep her many, many house plants alive.
