When our brother-in-law was going through a rough time with cancer, Jack was an important factor in his recovery by telling him everyday, “one day at a time!” Then the tables turned and Jack was sick with his kidney problems, diabetes, and an amputation. Then our whole family would use the quote, “one day at a time” to give Jack encouragement. Since his passing in 1995, we have named that “Jack’s saying!” Our family uses it quite often and remembering Jack with a smile and a “warm fuzzie”! This is why we chose to use the saying, “One day at a time” on Jack’s square.

The material on the large square is special, as it was his shirt he had bought for his youngest son’s graduation from high school just 2-months before he passed away.

The blanket stitch was used for a “country” quilt look, the buttons gives it a warm, country look, and they are from the same shirt! Blue was his favorite color, se we knew right away what colors to use on his square!

The rest says it all! – “Loved ones” remembering

Jack “one day at a time”.

Not a day goes by that we don’t think of him!
