Wendy’s love of life was evident by her contagious smile and laugh. She was always giggling and telling jokes. My sister loved Tweety Bird for as long as I can remember. There were Tweety Bird items all over the house.

Then one day she received a butterfly kit as a gift and a new passion was born. She loved to raise and release butterflies in the summer. My mom and she would often go for walks collecting milkweed for the caterpillars to eat. Eventually my sister had an enormous garden full of milkweed and plants to attract the butterflies.

When my brother suddenly passed away, my sister had not made the decision to become an organ donor. After she was educated on the positive effects of organ donation, she immediately changed her driver’s license to someday become an organ donor herself. She was very proud of what my brother had done. Little did we know that eight months later my sister would become a donor as well.

Her family and friends miss her smile and laugh every day, but are so very proud that she was able to enhance someone’s life in a better way.
