Meet the Recruiter – Pardra Her

Get to know one of the people responsible for bringing compassionate and talented people to the LifeSource team.

Pardra joined the LifeSource team in April 2022. She’s lived in the Twin Cities since 7th grade but also spent time in Missouri and on a farm in Wisconsin when she was younger. Before deciding on a career in HR she considered studying to become a nurse. If you get a chance to talk to Pardra, don’t worry about spoilers, she’s all caught up on Stranger Things.

Q&A with Pardra

What do you like to do when you’re not working?

I like being able to explore and find new places in the city. I have also been attempting cooking new recipes. I just tried a new honey and coconut caramelized chicken.

What’s the best place you’ve traveled to?

Cozumel Mexico – it’s the furthest I have actually gone. I went on a cruise, and we stopped by a beach side restaurant and that was amazing.

I would also really like to go overseas.

Are you a morning person or a night owl?

This is a tough one. I used to work at Amazon and my sleep schedule was off because of starting very early sometimes. Now that I am on a more regular schedule, I like getting up early and getting a good start to the day, but I enjoy staying up sometimes as well. There are a lot more things to do during the evening.

What three items would you take with you to a deserted island?

With a realistic mindset, I would bring a boat, fuel, and water.

For fun, I would bring one of my favorite books, “A Secret Garden”; my phone so I can play some music; and a lounge chair or hammock to sit back and relax!

What’s your favorite holiday?

Christmas. It’s the holiday that all my family members do their best to come together no matter what, all other holidays tend to be more flexible for us.

If you could have any superpower, which would it be?

I say knowledge is power so I would love to have a super brain. You can never stop learning and I wish I could do a data dump and have a continual download of new information.

What is your favorite thing about recruiting?

Building connections for sure, being able to meet and have conversations with other people and learn more about them.

What do you like the most about working at LifeSource?

Definitely the mission – you can’t top that. And the people are really great.

If you could work remotely from anywhere in the world, where would you choose?

I would have to say Paris, with a hot cup of coffee and a pastry.

Which celebrity would you like to crash your next Zoom meeting?

Probably Paul Rudd and Steve Carell, they both have great personalities and are super funny. I would not want the meeting to end.

What is your best piece of advice for applicants?

Keep your resume updated and highlight relevant opportunities to the job you’re applying for. Don’t use a system that auto generate your information.
