Writing to a loved one’s transplant recipients
The decision to write to your loved one’s recipient(s) is a very personal and powerful experience.
Donor families sometimes choose to write to transplant recipients to share information about themselves and their loved one. For some families, sharing with their loved one’s transplant recipient(s) helps them in their grief journey. We encourage you to write if and when it feels right for you.

Only about 50% of people in the Upper Midwest have registered as organ donors, and many misconceptions are contributing to people on the transplant waiting list not being able to get the organ they need. Our latest public awareness campaign features Bigfoot – one of the greatest legends of all time – busting myths and highlighting the truth about the importance of donation. Organ donation is for the big at heart, so let’s work together to reduce the waiting list and save lives.
