A Guide to the LifeSource Golf Classic

Update as of 9/19/2021: We are closely monitoring the weather for the LifeSource Golf Classic. We are planning to have the tournament, rain or shine, and will keep participants updated if there are any changes. We are still anticipating a 11:30am shotgun start as planned. Registration and morning activities have moved to the Clubhouse. We are encouraging participants to wear a mask indoors to keep our staff, volunteers and participants safe.

Tee things up for a great afternoon of golf, friendly competitions, great food and camaraderie, and – most importantly – a chance to make a difference!

What will event check-in and the pre-golf activities look like?

Join us starting at 10:00 a.m. that day for food and fun! We will have a grab-and-go lunch station for guests to enjoy (see Food & Beverage section for more details) as well as games and activities.

Memorial Garden: Come walk through our Memorial Garden and learn about the LifeSource mission and those that have given the gift of life.

Mega Putt: Put your putting skills to the test and win a prize! Join us early to participate in this game on the putting range. Chances to win can be purchased through the GiveSmart app.

Mystery Tote: Back by popular demand, we have our Mystery Tote game again this year! Pay $30 for a fun tote and be delighted by what’s inside. Mystery Totes can be purchased through the GiveSmart app.

Bag Drop: All golfers will be responsible to load their own golf bag to their assigned cart to minimize contact between event attendees and volunteers. Upon arrival, volunteers will be on hand to guide each golfer to their assigned cart this year.

Volunteers will be available on the day of the tournament, should you need help with the GiveSmart app. When possible, you are encouraged to create an account and get connected to our event during the week of September 13th.

Where will masks be required at the event?

We will comply with guidance from the MN Department of Health and the Governor’s Office and CDC guidelines at that time in September.

Will individual carts be available?

Individual carts may be requested by golfers if you are uncomfortable with sharing a cart. Requests must be received by August 31, 2021 to allow the golf course to source any additional carts required. You may indicate this information on the registration form or you may email your preference to Celeste Hanson at chanson@life-source.org. Please include your name and the foursome name (if known), so that we can properly identify the groupings for carts.

Food and Beverages

How will meals for the day be handled? What is the menu?

Lunch: Golfers will be provided with “grab and go” box lunches before the shotgun start (11:30 a.m.). The boxed lunches will include a sliced ham and turkey sandwich on focaccia bread with swiss cheese, tomato and lettuce, along with an apple, fresh baked cookie and chips.

Dinner: We will have an outdoor grill station sponsored by Highland Bank available for golfers to grab a burger, hot dog, brat or the ultimate burger (plant-based burger) with a side of chips. Water and soda will be served. Bar service will also be available.

I have a dietary restriction. How can I let LifeSource know?

If you have specific dietary needs, please let us know, either via the online registration form or include it with your check payment. If you have already submitted your golf registration without your dietary restriction, please contact Celeste Hanson at chanson@life-source.org

Evening Program

Will there be an evening program at the Golf Classic this year?

Yes! We will have a brief program during the dinner portion of the event where we will highlight the programs that LifeSource is funding from your participation at this event.

Silent Auction

Will there be a silent auction this year?

This year, our silent auction will be conducted through the online bidding platform GiveSmart. Silent auction bidding registration is now open.

Register today on LifeSource.givesmart.com or text LifeSource to 76278. A preview of the silent auction items will be released on Monday, September 13.

Be ready to bid starting on Friday, September 17 through Tuesday, September 21 at noon. Watch for more updates on LifeSource’s Facebook. Watch for more updates on LifeSource’s Facebook.

What happens if I win a silent auction item?

Congratulations! We will coordinate distribution of silent auction items with the winning bidders during the week following the tournament. This could include mailing, delivery or curbside pick-up at the LifeSource Minneapolis office depending upon the item, the individual and their location.
