By Participating in the Golf Classic, You Help Save Lives

More people have said “yes” to being a donor by checking the box on their driver’s license or through the national donor registry. But, there is still more work to do.

Funds raised at events like the LifeSource Golf Classic go directly towards public education initiatives.

Through sharing stories like Terri Opp’s, awareness of organ donation expands every year and sparks inspiration to check the box as a donor. Terri’s family, friends and co-workers have spent decades committed to creating a world where no one dies waiting. Through the LifeSource Golf Classic, they’ve expanded the circle of people who share and champion this cause.

But, there is still more work to do.

Think about this: In the span of one hour, six more people have been placed on the wait list for an organ transplant. Surveys reveal that 90% of our community supports the idea of organ donation, although not everyone has documented their decision and shared their perspective with family. There are more people waiting for a life-saving transplant than there are donors, making it critical for everyone who supports donation to register.

Explore how you can inspire someone today by:

  1. If you haven’t already, please consider registering to be a donor
  1. Share your decision with your family.
  1. Follow along with LifeSource on The Latest blog or on social media (@LifeSourceMNDAK). Share stories about the power of donation and transplantation.

Together, we can make a difference for those on the waiting list.
