Engaging partners to become donation advocates.
I am a registered donor myself, but I have always been involved with healthcare and understanding the end-of-life process and its influence on our lives.
I develop and maintain the relationships with our hospital partners, specifically Hennepin Healthcare. Through this, I collaborate with HCMC in preserving their organ, tissue, and eye donation program, processes, and policies.
I was previously a health unit coordinator at a local family birth center, and part of that role was making referral calls to LifeSource for donation potential. I also completed my master’s in public health in December 2018, with focuses on how death and the dying process can guide our daily lives and educating our communities about health needs.
I work at LifeSource because of the mission and the impact of organ, tissue, eye donation can have. I have realized that LifeSource fulfills my personal and professional mission of being part of my diverse community to help educate about the different health issues, needs, and opportunities there are to help others, but also themselves. The families and healthcare teams that I see every day inspire me to continue this mission.
