Strong collaboration is key to make donation happen.
I work with our hospital partners to further this amazing mission of offering hope and saving lives through organ, tissue, and eye donation. My role is to collaborate and build relationships, provide education and data, update policy, assist the LifeSource team, and support our donor families.
Prior to LifeSource, I worked in the private and public sector as a planner, was an assistant professor, ran my own clinic and most recently worked for a large hospital system. My role as a hospital partner liaison allows me to draw from all of these experiences to include patient care within a healthcare system, education, data analysis and reporting as well as communications with partners. I am finding that all of these experiences have helped me in my role with LifeSource.
LifeSource values and mission in their role as an OPO is a major factor in what I do. I am inspired by the thought that what I do can help save or dramatically change a persons life. I am inspired by individuals and their families that make the very thoughtful, generous gift to help a complete strange in their time of ultimate need. They take turn a very sad event into a positive life changing event for another. A truly altruistic decision, that is inspiring.
