Connection to donation/transplantation
I received a liver transplant in January 1995 at the University of Minnesota Medical Center (M Health Fairview).
Competitions/Events at the 2022 Transplant Games of America
Cycling 5k time trial and Cycling 20k road race.
How many Transplant Games have you attended?
10 U.S. Games and 8 International Games
Why do you participate in the Transplant Games?
For me, the Games mean motivation and camaraderie. The Games motivate me to be active, and to bond with people from all over the country and world who share the experience of having been saved by a gift from another.
One thing you want others to know about donation.
My gift of life has enabled me to see my two children graduate from college, see them get married, and enjoy the company of five great grandchildren. I wouldn’t have been there for any of these things if it were not for the decision of a generous and courageous donor family.
