It’s National Donate Life Month!

Every April, we celebrate National Donate Life Month to honor those that have saved lives with the gift of donation. Our hope is that through education, conversation and other activities we can inspire and encourage more people to register as organ, eye and tissue donors.

Checking the box can save lives. It’s a simple action with a big impact.

The Donation Process

How does organ, eye and tissue donation work?

Organ donation is a complex process managed by federally designated Organ Procurement Organizations (OPO). LifeSource is the only OPO that manages this process for the state of Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota, and Western Wisconsin.

Did you know that 16 people pass away while waiting for a life-saving organ transplant every day? A new name is also added to the transplant waiting list every 8 minutes, but one donor can save and heal more than 75 lives. Together with our partners, donor families, and the community we work towards one goal – no one dies waiting.

If you haven’t registered already, visit your state’s online registry today at RegisterMe.org.
